Some things on this server can only be accessed with SSL. SSL is designed to provide encryption as well as authentication. The way the authentication works is that the server presents a certificate that was signed by a certificate authority (e.g. Thawte or VeriSign). The signature is proof that the certificate authority has verified that the certificate owner is who they say they are. Chances are your computer (and thus you) is already set up to trust anything with Thawte's or VeriSign's signature on it. But obtaining their signatures costs money so I've set up my own certificate authority to sign my certificates. This means that if you try to use the SSL protected stuff here you'll get warning messages saying the certificate authority can't be recognized. You should add my certificate authority's certificate to your list to avoid the warnings.

Following the preceding link may only add the certificate to your web browser. If your mail client still is giving you headaches save the link to a file and try importing into in your mail client's security settings.

When you load the certificate you will see its fingerprint; you should verify the fingerprint with me in person or, if you already know my PGP key, with the block below.
