Rev May08
CAPTION for 2x fist studies
Lorrin is 3+
months old and making his "concentration sound," a sustained, low
grunting. The right fist was the first to be slowly moved across
the visual field for inspection even though he grew up to be
left-handed. After switching to the other fist and moving it
solo both across the field as well as in depth, I caught Lorrin
-- but not on-camera -- moving one fist into the other open hand. Comment:
genetics cannot specify cortical neural connections specifically enough
to support either fine sensory performance or fine motor control, let
alone coordination of eye and hand. What you get is a flaky
computer that must finish its own programming before you can expect to
get any useful work out of it.
