Nelson -- Paintings
Landscapes & the "blue period"
J. I. Nelson, 2008
Landscapes,
and paintings from Florence's "blue period."
Many
paintings here are of
groups of people. I find the blue ones moody.

I found the mood odd. No faces are resolved, and the figures
do not all relate well socially to one another. Nevertheless,
Florence liked them both well enough to hang in the alcove of her
living room, where she herself often hung out.

There was talk of giving this painting to Betty Ustun, and, since we
can't find it, we hope that it was.
